This free-standing coffee table recalls traditional wooden lake boats but also has a rock-like asymmetrical quality. We developed the design digitally as the 3-dimensional resolution of a circle and a square offset in space – simple platonic forms yield a complex curved surface. The version fabricated for the Okoboji House uses solid White Oak boards as a reference to the trees surrounding the house.
