Yamazaki Bakery was founded in 1949, entered Shanghai since 2004, its baked goods have been known for their high-quality raw materials and delicate taste for so many years. The steady export of high quality has won a large number of fans for its brand.

In the recent years,Yamazaki brand has steadily expanded with each small but distinctive shop. The designers hope to make the traditional Yamazaki Bakery can attract more kinds of consumers and make more young people accept such brands in Shanghai which web celebrity culture prevails.

Jin Design Studio designed a space for Yamazaki second store which located in Metro City, following the Jiuguang store at Shang Jia Center in Shanghai. Different from the Jiuguang store, the design language of “rapped in a floating bread is not suitable for the Metro City store due to the limitations of the site. But the interior design also express the concept was conceived: in many Japanese brands and the different class products large collection of the B1 level at Metro City, to create a sense of being wrapped by bread, make it separate from the diverse and complex business environment, and become the focus of the visual center of the whole shopping mall, and the sense of being “wrapped” is in the form of array type, to invite curious onlookers to come inside, is a totally open seamlessly wrapped expression of the space.

Jin Design Studio

Jin Design Studio used 10,000 pieces of natural red cave stone to write this form in the Yamazaki Bakery of Metro City. From the original hard and cold materials, after cutting and pickling it makes the soft impression through the materials. The natural holes are interwoven and permeated, like freshly baked bread, with a long fragrance coming out of the gaps and blending perfectly with the aroma of the bread on the display cabinet. Whoever passes by the storefront it would be attracted to it and can better stimulate consumers’ desire to buy from the visual senses.

The Yamazaki’s of Metro City is the first store to have a dining seating area from the other Yamazaki stores so far. Its existence to provides a moment which allows the consumers to have a rest here in the bustling shopping mall, and enjoy the drinks and cakes calmly, while enjoying to see through the whole facade from a positive perspective. This is an indispensable part of the “full perspective experience” in the whole design, which is to make the design more complete.
