韩国这俩摄影师把工作室和画廊开在了战后废墟里

Today， Seoul has developed into a city interlaced with complex cultures and high-rise buildings， almost to the point where it’s hard to imagine its past. Yet in some parts of Euljiro， a region that has been central to the city’s development， there remains evidences of Seoul’s post-war industrialization. Even now， the neighborhood has all the things essential to the industrial activities in Korea： construction materials， factories， subsidiary materials， food， and fabric. In Euljiro， where the cityscape is more eclectic than other areas， unique individuals began settling one by one， opening fun and independent spaces.

N/A， a contemporary gallery and atelier founded by two photographers， is one of those spaces， located in a building built in the 1970s when Euljiro’s industrialization was in full fledge. Studio Unravel got to produce the entire interior mood of the space， and， following the photographers’ requests， we preserved the building structure while touching up minimal areas that needed repair. We kept the old tiles and the flooring and removed the old window frames and replaced them with crisp metal ones. Like restoring a historical site， we preserved the heart of the space while refining the details until it was reborn into a unique atelier where the past and the present coexist.
