A Harmonious Urban Oasis for Pets and People
Pawer Land隐匿于广州越秀老城的深巷肌理之中，被浓厚的市井氛围所包裹，与周边建筑环境和谐共生。Informal异规设计巧妙梳理场地原有的基因，充分利用好建筑原始自然条件，打造一个“与在地对话”的社区口袋公园。从街巷到室内，从日常到生活，创造一种更加亲近自然的城市人宠生活方式。
Tucked away in the labyrinthine alleys of Guangzhou’s Yuexiu district, Pawer Land blends seamlessly into the vibrant fabric of the old city, coexisting harmoniously with its surroundings. Informal Designcarefully reinterprets the site’s original character, leveraging its natural conditions to create a community pocket park in dialogue with its locale. From the streets to the interiors, from daily routines to shared living, the space fosters a pet-friendly urban lifestyle that reconnects people with nature.
院落新生，街坊宠趣
A Reborn Courtyard, A Playground for Pets and Neighbors
项目置身在一片岁月斑驳的建筑群中，是典型的南方城中村居民砖混结构自建楼，在两层挑高的梁架下，仅余两米呼吸空间。在改造程度有限的建筑条件下，我们以「下沉式」和「半开放」的设计手法，构建了一个全新且符合Pawer Land的空间秩序。
Nestled among weathered buildings typical of southern urban villages—a dense cluster of self-built brick-and-concrete structures—the site originally had only two meters of breathing space beneath its two-story beam framework. With limited renovation possibilities, the design team adopted a sunken and semi-open approach to establish a fresh spatial order for Pawer Land.
在面向邻栋的部分，使用半高的墙壁围合出空间的院落，这些围墙不仅作为视觉符号，同时也是空间界限，让大小朋友们可以在安全的范围内尽情玩耍；中庭则是以开放和温馨的样貌呈现，我们根据原始树木的位置，保留了户外原始地面的抬高部分，保障了场地的私密性；靠近建筑部分的地面则降低高度，自然的高度差为宠物们划分出两块奔跑与嬉闹的场域，自然的动线与室内连接成为一个整体，营造出宁静的自然环境。
Facing the adjacent buildings, low walls enclose a courtyard-like space, serving as both visual markers and safe boundaries for large friends and small friends to play freely. The central courtyard, open and inviting, retains elevated sections of the original terrain around existing trees, ensuring privacy. Meanwhile, sunken areas near the building create natural height variations, defining separate zones for pets to roam and play. The seamless flow between indoors and outdoors cultivates a tranquil, nature-infused environment.
我们通过一系列的空间关系，试图创造一种更加亲近自然的城市人宠生活方式。在这里，遛狗的主人会与邻居在大树下闲聊，孩宠追逐的身影掠过爬满青苔的矮墙，人与宠物的足迹在这片院落中不断丰富，共同丈量着属于老城的鲜活日常。
Through these spatial relationships, the design encourages a closer bond between urban life, pets, and nature. Here, dog owners chat with neighbors under the shade of trees, while children and pets dart past moss-covered low walls. The courtyard becomes a living canvas, enriched by the daily interactions of people and animals—a microcosm of the old city’s vitality.
檐下宠景，市井生机
Sheltered Petscapes, Urban Vitality
前庭方寸空地与室内空间织就贯通，建筑一楼区域由一个出挑一米的屋檐遮盖，宽檐垂落，提供了一个全年可用的室外遮蔽空间。鉴于室内高度限制，入口区域设置局部降层处理，构建挑高的入口体验；沿街立面大幅开放，引市井生机入室，这些弥漫的自然光，是构成宠物生命力最好的质地。
The front courtyard merges fluidly with the interior. A one-meter overhanging eave extends from the first floor, providing year-round shelter. Due to height constraints, the entrance features a sunken step, enhancing the sense of verticality. The street-facing façade opens generously, drawing the lively energy of the neighborhood inside, while ample natural light becomes the perfect backdrop for pets’ playful energy.
步梯贯层，拾级而上，二楼嵌置的可推拉折叠门，会在温润季候全然敞开，让庭院的自然景致，映入室内，消弭边界。让人耳目一新的，是面向街道的宠物功能间，这个轻巧的玻璃盒子，作为整个空间活力焦点，塑就出人、宠、街景与空间的互动景象，同时营造一个舒适的工作氛围。
Ascending the staircase, the second floor features sliding-folding doors that open fully in mild weather, erasing the boundary between indoors and the courtyard greenery. A standout feature is the street-facing pet activity room—a lightweight glass box that acts as the space’s dynamic focal point. It frames interactions between people, pets, and the streetscape while fostering a cozy workspace atmosphere.
巷石温板，自然延续
Textured Materials, Natural Continuity
在材料策略上，强调在地性与经济性并举。选用了城中村街巷肌理中常见的水洗石与陶砖，使其成为空间底色，也与周边环境自然融合。空间秩序的营造则依托温润的海洋板，它被精妙地塑造成功能载体：承载休憩的座椅、延展视觉的天花吊顶、连接空间的墙体，编织出清晰而舒适的空间韵律。
Material choices prioritize local authenticity and affordability. Washed gravel and terracotta bricks—common in the urban village’s alleyways—form the spatial foundation, harmonizing with the surroundings. The warm tones of marine plywood shape functional elements: seating, ceiling panels, and connecting walls, weaving a clear yet soothing spatial rhythm.
与此同时，在保留原有结构的基础上，通过精准的拆改与填补，在新与旧之间找到了微妙的平衡。将品牌字母设计为充满生命力的“草丛”图案，作为玻璃护栏上的宠物防撞图形，兼具引导宠物安全的功能性与自然意趣的装饰性。
While preserving the original structure, meticulous modifications strike a delicate balance between old and new. The brand’s logo transforms into a playful “grass patch” pattern on glass railings, doubling as pet-safe decals that blend functionality with natural whimsy.
Pawer Land是一种精彩缩影，人、宠物、空间与在地文化在此相互交织，不断激发着不同居民们的记忆与情绪，所有的情感糅杂进Pawer Land当中，与这个街区一起慢慢生长，无时不刻的营造出人宠社区生活的纯粹模样。
Pawer Land: A Living Microcosm
Pawer Land is a vibrant tapestry where people, pets, space, and local culture intertwine, evoking memories and emotions among residents. Every interaction adds to its evolving story, growing alongside the neighborhood to embody the pure essence of a pet-inclusive community life.
